Baden-Württemberg (f/m/d); home-based Munich, Germany Stuttgart,
Germany Vollzeit R1124742 At Beckman Coulter GmbH, to reinforce our
current team, we are currently recruiting a Field Application
Specialist, specialized in Automation within the Life Sciences
division. About the role As a Field Application Specialist you will
be in charge of the applications support of Beckman Coulter Life
Sciences Automation products. You assess potential application of
company products to meet customer needs pre and/or post-sales and
prepare detailed product specifications for the development and
implementation of customer products/applications/solutions in
alignment with manufacturer stated specifications. You build
detailed design and implementation specifications for sophisticated
products/applications/solutions. You build mini-applications with
process simulation, often requiring rapid software modeling and/or
product demo/training (at conferences, seminars, trade shows, or
customer sites) for customer. You may assist with optimizing
products to meet customer needs and workflow requirements.
Application support across multiple scientific subject areas
including drug discovery and genomics Coordinate with sales team on
pre-sales technical presentations and serve as technical resource
Understand and adapt customer workflows and scope of projects Plan
and execute product demonstrations for prospective customers
Prepare and present seminars and posters at conferences Develop new
applications through industrial and academic teamwork Provide
customer training and support; maintain positive customer relations
Build, adapt and optimize liquid handling methods/protocols to
improve customer workflows Troubleshoot and diagnose technical
problems and serve as a liaison with internal customer support
teams as needed Overnight domestic and international travel, up to
70%, when required, sometimes on short notice Beckman seeks an
upbeat scientist to join our FAS team. This is primarily a
customer-facing role in which you will work with scientists to
understand their application requirements and help to adapt their
workflows to the outstanding capabilities of the Echo and Biomek
liquid handlers as well as Beckman’s automation platforms. Our
innovative instruments are used worldwide in multiple subject areas
including genomics, drug discovery, cancer research, and synthetic
biology. Our Field Applications Scientists work closely with sales
and support staff to provide high-level customer support before,
during, and after a sale. Therefore, we need someone who has bench
experience, market knowledge, and is ready to expand their horizons
and seek the next challenge as we enable scientists to automate
assays and work at smaller volumes with greater precision. We also
need strong written and verbal communication skills to present the
advantages of our product portfolio to scientifically teams with
multifaceted strengths and customers. Educated to B. Sc. or
equivalent in a biological or related subject Minimum 3 year
hands-on experience with laboratory automation equipment A
molecular biology background and experience in Next Generation
Sequencing is highly desirable A previous experience of technical
or application support within a Diagnostic or Life Science Company
would be beneficial The position is home-based and will require
approximately up to 70% travel Language skills: fluency in German
and English is required and any other additional European language
would be beneficial Candidate should be located in Bavaria OR
Baden-Württemberg, Germany
