Comtravo – Making Business Travel Radically Simple We are a
team of travel experts, tech-enthusiasts and heroes of customer
service – with the shared purpose to simplify business travel using
an AI-based approach.In our 6th year of existence and Comtravo is
growing rapidly with now more than 180 colleagues, supported by top
investors like Microsoft, Project A and Creandum.We are currently
on a strong growth path and looking for people to help us to build
up our tech department and bring it to the next level.Our two major
web applications are developed for the internal or respectively
external use of our travel agents and customers to book and manage
their business trips. Both applications interact with our
in-house-built booking engine with APIs to our suppliers.We are
using state-of-the-art technologies, such as ‘Natural Language
Processing’ and machine learning techniques, to automate our
fulfilment pipeline as well as customer and peer data from a
database to customize the travels.Our tech stack:The frontend is
built in Angular / Typescript. We have two major applications – one
for our customers and one for our back-office team of travel
agents.The backend is primarily built in Node.js / Typescript and
consists of around 20 major RESTful services plus around 60
microservices. We make heavy use of Docker and Terraform and are
running on AWS. Services are coupled by events and run on AWS ECS
and Lambda.We invest heavily in shared components, libraries,
automated tests, monitoring and sane interfaces. Together with a
strong CI/CD pipeline we are able to release many times per day to
production.ResponsibilitiesYou manage a full stack scrum team with
4-5 Software EngineersYou write maintainable and well-tested code
according to the latest best practicesYou provide the right
guidance to your team and help them solve their technical
questionsYou lead the development and optimizing on our booking
platform and creating a smooth and pleasant end-user experience for
our customers and internal stakeholdersYou are responsible for the
design and implementation of complex, scalable data processingYou
troubleshoot and work out solutions for complex and challenging
problemsYou work in close cooperation with other developer teams,
our product team and the data scientist to develop kick-ass
featuresYou will add value by leveraging current trends in software
design, architecture and technologyYou foster a culture of
transparency and communication and challenge others while letting
them challenge you to deliver the best results
possibleRequirementsYou have a degree in Software Engineering (or a
related field)You have a minimum of 5 years professional experience
in software development plus 2 years of leading a teamYou have
strong experience working in the Javascript environment and the
frameworks and have the ability to write production ready code in
Javascript (ES6)/ TypescriptYou have a good sense of user
experience and workflowsYou have a strong background knowledge in
Computer Science (Data Structures, Algorithms, Design Patterns,
Scaling)You have a strong focus on Code Quality, Robustness,
Automation, Testing and MonitoringYou have a deep passion for
frontend and backend systems, their scalability, as well as their
