interested in joining us? About the Role We are seeking a highly
motivated Junior Claims Expert to join our Property & Casualty
Business Management team in Munich reporting to the Head Property
& Casualty Business Management Northern, Central and Eastern
Europe. In this role, you will be responsible for handling a
designated claims portfolio on behalf of Swiss Re Europe S.A.,
Niederlassung Deutschland. The claims portfolio consists of a wide
range of claims of all lines of business with a strong focus on,
but not limited to, German clients with local and global reach. Key
Responsibilities: Manage the Property & Casualty in-force
portfolio by ensuring state-of-the-art claims management for the
area of responsibility. This includes handling of books of business
on „referral“-basis in line with the current Licensing and
Permanent Establishment (LPE) framework. Ensure alignment on
reinsurance market losses throughout the Swiss Re Group globally.
Develop and implement client claims strategies and services within
the client cross functional teams and deliver on functional,
operational, financial and strategic targets across the Property
and Casualty Business Management value chain. Develop and foster
client relationships with strong emphasis on claims counter-parts
in cedent’s and broker’s organisations with the aim to build a
business impact. Build and maintain relationships with internal
stakeholder groups and support pursuit of their respective goals
(Client Management / Underwriting / Actuaries / Key Case Management
/ „Solutions“ and transactional partners). Ensure feedback loop on
a continuous basis, particularly to Underwriting and Client Markets
community. Drive portfolio management and monitoring activities
seeking to avoid negative surprises whilst identifying trends and
patterns that provide relevant insights for risk evaluation and
pricing purposes. Work closely together with the Solutions and
Transactions Teams for the local markets; contribute to their
initiatives and activities, develop claims journeys and interact
with TPA’s and Service Providers where needed. Develop and/or
co-create claims solutions and services for clients / markets that
hold the potential for scalability and monetization. Lead of ad-hoc
initiatives and projects locally and globally. Expand network of
industry contacts for core claims responsibilities (i.e. clients,
attorneys, adjusters, surveyors) and claims solutions (Claims
Service Providers, TPAs, Insurtech.) Work closely with Claims
Operations colleagues. About the Team This is a great opportunity
for you to be part of our team of nine other experienced Claims
Experts based in Munich and Copenhagen. You work closely together
with Business Management colleagues across different locations as
well as Client Markets, Underwriting, Transactions and Solutions
teams and other stakeholders. You will handle client and
stakeholder relationships at all levels of seniority. Your legal
background enables us to evidence Thought Leadership activities,
adequate market and cross functional team representation as well as
excellent portfolio monitoring. About You Degree in Law, preferably
as a fully qualified lawyer. Engaging personality with a high
interest in claims handling and focus on displaying commercial
mindset, client centricity and knowledge sharing. Experience in the
primary insurance or reinsurance industry is a plus. Strategic,
analytical and conceptual thinking with an entrepreneurial mindset,
passionate about delivering results. Pronounced inter-personal and
communication skills / emotional intelligence; ability to build
relationships / engaging with others, building commitment, taking a
cross-functional view. Self-driven entrepreneurial personality with
an abundance of energy and a high level of frustration tolerance
and resilience. With strong interpersonal skills, you are a change
agent who encourages others, and promotes team work. Self-aware,
you establish trust through open, transparent communication and
effective knowledge sharing. Excellent verbal and written
communication skills in German and English. Strong „Can-Do“
attitude / high degree of self-initiative. Strong negotiation
skills and sensitivity to cultural differences. Willingness to
