Senior Buyer – Electrical & Control Engineering (Essen)

Our Client is one of the largest manufacturers / service
providers for power plant and plant technology and as a result due
to on-going growth, new contracts/projects with Global customers
they require a Senior Buyer to join them in the area of electrical
and power engineering.  

Proven on the market for many years, our client’s wealth
of experience in supply, revision, repair and maintenance concepts
allows their customers the technology that guarantees a long-life
cycle of their system components.  

Key Senior Buyer responsibilities: 

• Project specific procurement in the areas of electrical /
  control technology, apparatus / boiler technology for plants and
  power plants
• Collaboration with technical contacts in power plants and
  similar, maintenance and engineering areas
• Negotiation and handling of procurement processes considering
  the requirements from the customer, procurement of deliveries and
  services in the field of electrical and control technology
• Supplier management (including maintenance of certificates and
  approvals as well as supplier evaluation)
• Monitoring and analysis of the national and international
  procurement market
• Development of the supplier base
• Processing complaints and claim management
• Support in the organization and control of project-related
  transport, logistics and customs issues
• Maintenance and support of framework contracts
• Participation in the introduction of the electronic purchasing
  platform „ARIBA“ and its maintenance and further development
• Support in the preparation of the calculation and project
  execution
• Support in the prequalification of „key suppliers“
• Reporting on procurement measures and purchasing success
• Deadline monitoring for critical deliveries and services
• Support for contract management, commercial order processing
  and invoicing in the areas of responsibility mentioned there,
  depending on requirements and skills and knowledge

  Skills
Required: 

• Purchasing experience with knowledge in the areas of electrical
  engineering and control technology within the energy sector
• Several years of professional experience in the above-mentioned
  fields in a national or international environment, ideally with a
  focus on electrical engineering and control technology
• Knowledge of contract and company law
• Good IT skills (SAP R3 MM, MS Office)
• Entrepreneurial thinking, confident demeanour, negotiating
  skills, teamwork, customer focused, initiative, active, pragmatic
  and solution-oriented
• Willingness to travel across Europe
• Must have fluency in German & English language skills
