Ph.D. candidate (m/f/d) (Frankfurt)

The Max-Planck Institute for Empirical Aesthetics in Frankfurt,
Germany, investigates the cognitive, affective, neuronal, and
sociocultural foundations of aesthetic experience. For the
Department of Music we are seeking a Ph.D. candidate (m/f/d) The
Ph.D. student will work on projects seeking to understand
aesthetical development in children, with a primary focus on the
development of musical abilities and behavior. Methods will include
behavioral measures, audio and video recording, and computational
data analysis. The ideal applicant for this position holds an MA,
has an excellent record in her/his respective discipline, and
possesses the following skills: Requirements: excellent Master in
Developmental Psychology, Pedagogical Psychology or a related field
experience with empirical research methods interest in musical
development of children explicit interest in, and high motivation
for, scientific research excellent scientific communication skills
(including writing) good understanding of statistics basic
programming skill for computational data analysis, or high
motivation to acquire such skill ability to work collaboratively
with a newly established research team excellent English (spoken
& written) and German The position is for a period of three
years, with a possible extension of up to one year. The anticipated
starting date is spring 2020. The primary supervisor will be Dr. F.
Degé. Salary will correspond to a 50% position of the TVÖD-13
(Bund) salary level, and additionally include a 25% revocable
